Background and Goal

The project called “Training Project Luxor” is a cooperation between the Governorate of Luxor, the IG Metal Esslingen, the Odaisat Industrial Secondary School in Thoth and the Egyptian Ministry of Education. The aim of the project is to educate young people in the region around Luxor to become good electricians following German standards. The organization and the fund raising are done by GRUSSI e. Another important point is that economic progress can only be achieved with secure electricity supply.

The special training started in October 2014.It is fully integrated in the Egyptian education system which schedules three years for a professional education. In the first year the curriculum covers the theoretical education. In the second and third year the focus is on the practical skills.
